Qualcomm is ready to launch its new mobile processor in the market, the Snapdragon 8s Gen4, in the upcoming weeks and there are some rumors are also spread about it that this chipset will be called as Snapdragon 8s Elite, this new chipset is a successor of last year’s Snapdragon 8s Gen3 and this brings better performance and efficiency.
This new Snapdragon 8s Gen4 has a 1+3+2+2 core setup which is totally different from snapdragon 8 Elite which uses Oryon Cores.
and the cores of 8s Gen4 is arranged in
- 1 super-fast Cortex-X4 Core which is clocked at 3.21GHz (this is responsible for top performance).
- 3 Fast cortex-A720 core which is clocked at 3.01GHz + 2 more A720 core which is clocked at 2.80GHz for smooth performance.
- and 2 power-efficient Cortex-a720 cores clocked at 2.02GHz for battery efficient and saving.
This chipset comes with the Adreno 825 GPU, which is the GPU from the same family that is present in Snapdragon 8 Elite but this has few cores and this enables 8s Gen4 GPU enough for gaming, video editing, heavy tasks etc.
and according to the leaks this new chipset will score over 2 million points on AnTuTu benchmarks.
The first smartphone which is expected to launch with Snapdragon 8s Gen4 are
- iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro.
- Redmi Turbo 4 Pro which can be released as POCO F7 globally.
and this phones are expected to launch in April 2025
